What Is Coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in Year Two?
Sega officially launches Year Two for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on November 3, 2026, delivering an overhaul headlined by 1v1 Duel Mode, gadget expansions, and permanent base game discounts. Six licensed DLC packs bring Godzilla, Evangelion, Sanrio, and Final Fantasy content alongside free roster additions like Bayonetta and Persona 3’s Aigis.
The publisher detailed the upcoming roadmap in a comprehensive Steam community update following the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds World Championship Finals. Sega plans to expand both casual and competitive play across current console platforms and PC throughout the upcoming operational year.
Duel Mode and the Grand Master Plate Upgrade
Competitive racing shifts format with the introduction of 1v1 Duel Mode across online and offline matches. Racers gain full visibility into an opponent’s inventory, gadget setup, and track positioning to emphasize tactical resource management.
The new Duel Boost gauge charges automatically over time and accelerates whenever racers deploy items during a race. Trailing competitors gain meter faster when falling behind, creating opportunities for late-race comebacks through precise timing.
Offline players can challenge CPU rivals in Rival Duel to earn exclusive machines, while competitive drivers can climb seasonal ranks in limited-time Best-of-10 matches. Free matchmaking and customizable Friend Match lobbies round out the competitive suite.
Vehicle customization expands through the Grand Master Plate, an evolution of the existing Master Plate system. The upgraded plate adds a seventh Super Slot that amplifies the parameters of any single-slot gadget, supported by fifteen new gadgets arriving on day one.

Six Crossover DLC Packs and Free Guest Racers
Free character additions begin on November 3, 2026, with the arrival of Bayonetta and her Butterfly Witch boost machine. Sega follows this initial release with a McLaren Racing Formula 1 crossover later in November, dressing Sonic in Papaya team colors alongside an official speed-type race car.
Persona 3 co-protagonist Aigis joins the roster in early 2027 behind the wheel of the Palladion Dressy acceleration machine. Each free racer launch accompanies a ten-day themed Festival event featuring exclusive cosmetic rewards for race participants.
Season Pass Two delivers six themed expansions starting with the Godzilla Pack on November 3, 2026. The initial pack recreates the classic City Escape environment as Godzilla Escape, pairing the track with vehicles inspired by Godzilla, King Ghidorah, and Mothra.
The Evangelion Pack arrives in January 2027 with Tokyo-III, playable racers Rei Ayanami and Asuka Shikinami Langley, and three EVA-themed machines. Sanrio Puroland follows in early 2027 with Hello Kitty and Kuromi, while late 2027 brings the SEGALAND Pack featuring After Burner and OutRun arcade cabinets.
Square Enix and Atlus collaborations round out the seasonal pass in late 2027 through the Final Fantasy VII Remake Midgar Pack and the Persona-themed Reload Revival Royal Pack. Players who purchase Season Pass Two immediately receive classic Sega console controller decals, followed by hardware-inspired machines in November.

Permanent Base Game Price Reductions and Editions
Sega has lowered entry barriers by permanently discounting digital editions of the base game across all storefronts. The Standard Edition drops from around $70 to under $40, while the Digital Deluxe Edition falls from around $90 to under $60.
New adopters can purchase the Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition for $60, combining the base software with Season Pass Two. Dedicated physical collectors can also acquire the physical Year One Edition for $60, complete with a 35th Anniversary reversible sleeve and cloth patch.
Returning racers can secure Season Pass Two as a standalone purchase for $30. Sega also awards the Super Shadow racer and the Super Dark Flare vehicle to players who maintain ownership of both Season Pass One and Season Pass Two.
Sega’s Year Two roadmap establishes a sustained support model for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds through consistent mechanical refinements and high-profile crossover media. The combination of competitive duel mechanics, expanded gadget customization, and accessible entry pricing positions the title for a competitive second year on the racing circuit.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
